Perfect First Friday Concert!

Despite threatening storms, the year's second First Friday Concert on the historic square was a huge success with the Stones River Pilots. Main Street Executive Director Kathleen Herzog told WGNS News that a 20-degree drop in temperature, a pleasant breeze and great music drew a record crowd.

When the Stones River Pilots played "The Twist", the crowds flowed to the area in front of the stage. Hundreds of enthusiasts (photo above) were move'n to the twist. 

Mayor Bragg Welcomes Crowd

Murfreesboro Mayor Tommy Bragg (left photo) welcomed everyone as a part of the city's bicentennial celebration. For July the Heart of Tennessee's focus is on "music month".

Next Concert August 3rd

The downtown free concert is a service of the Main Street Program as well as the Only Downtown Business Alliance. The Gravel Road Gypsies will perform at the next Friday Night Live. That will be 6:30 to 9:30 on Friday night August 3rd.
