The Rutherford County Planning commission may approve the mosque on Veals Road for a second time. However, they will first have to give proper public notice about the construction of the mosque.

A judge ruled in May that the public notice given in 2010 was inadequate. Therefore, the certificate of occupancy for the mosque has not been granted. The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro claims they submitted their construction aplication according to the existing rules of law and it was approved accordingly.

In the meantime, Rutherford County is appealing the motion.
