Congratulations to Senator Jim Tracy, who defended his seat in a landslide over Matt Randolph, and says the focus now turns to jobs.  Richard Garvin also conceded to Dawn White, who has won the primary for the TN House 37th Rep District and will go on to face Robert New in the general election.

A decisive victory for Greg Brooks as well, the new Road superintendent, who issued this thank you to the voters.

Additionally, Congressman Scott DesJarlais released the following statement after winning the Tennessee Republican primary:

“I’m humbled that Tennesseans have given me the opportunity to be the Republican nominee in the race for Tennessee’s Fourth Congressional District. I look forward to continuing to run on my record of reducing wasteful government spending, eliminating job-killing regulations and repealing President Obama’s government takeover of our healthcare system. Over the last two years, we have made significant inroads in changing the bureaucratic culture in Washington. But our work is far from over. This nation still faces significant obstacles that will require tough decisions and bold leadership. If elected again, I will continue to confront these issues head-on with the same independent, conservative approach that has allowed me to be an effective advocate for my constituents in this Congress.”

He will go on to face Democrat Eric Stewart in November.
