State Senator Jim Tracy defended his seat in a landslide over challenger Matt Randolph and says the focus now turns to jobs.

Richard Garvin also conceded to Dawn White, who has won the primary for the TN House 37th Rep District and will go on to face Robert New in the general election November 6th.

In other state House races...in the 34th District, Republican Rick Womick will face Democrat Luke Dickerson in November. Dickerson edged challenger Spencer Douglas by 94 votes. In the 49th state House district, incumbent Republican Mike Sparks and Democrat Mike Williams were both unopposed. In November, Womick will face Dickerson in the 34th District, White versus New and Sparks will be challenged by Williams. Joe Carr defeated Republican challenger Ryan Harring to retain his seat in the state House 48 district. There is no Democratic challenger.
