Blackman Middle and Blackman High Schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday morning. The precautionary measure was taken after a suspect fled from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department Interstate Crime Enforcement unit. Evidently, ICE officers stopped a vehicle on I-24 and the suspect fled, wrecking on John Rice Boulevard. After wrecking the culprit eluded officers on foot. The Sheriff’s Department is now looking for the suspect. 

Deputies describe the suspect as a  Middle Eastern male standing 6-feet tall and weighing 175 pounds.
