Local Restaurants Gear up for 6th Annual Taste of Stones River

More than forty restaurants and vendors will participate in the 6th Annual Taste of Stones River scheduled for Saturday, August 25 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at The Avenue Murfreesboro near Belk. “Taste of Stones River is a fun, family event that offers something for everyone,” said June Bilbo, Taste of Stones River Committee Chair. “Visitors may sample food from local restaurants while listening to live music from local bands.

Families will enjoy a variety of activities in the Kid’s Fun Zone. The best part is, it all supports a great cause, the Primary Care and Hope Clinic.” Taste of Stones River event admission is free. Sampling tickets are fifty cents each and can be purchased on the day of the event. Admission to the Kid’s Fun Zone is $6.00. Tickets will be on sale at the event location beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Restaurants and food vendors begin serving at 4:00 p.m. Restaurants and food vendors participating in this year’s event include: Angel Art Bakery, Bar Louie, Blue Agave, Bojangles, Carl’s Seasonsings, Cedar Bucket Cafeteria, Chili’s, Chuy’s, The Chop House, Chuck E Cheese, Coca-Cola Bottling Consolidated, DET Distributing, Domino’s, Edible Arrangements, Fanatics Sports Bar, Five Senses, Fulin’s Asian Cuisine, Genghis Grill, Gigi’s Cupcakes, Gondolier, Goodness Gracious Catering & Café, Hooters, Jason’s Deli, Legends Steakhouse, Longhorn Steakhouse, Main Street Café, Marina’s On The Square, McAlister’s Deli, Mimi’s Café, OK Jose Tex-Mex, Old Chicago, O’Possum’s Pub, Office Depot, Panera Bread, Papa John’s Pizza, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, Puleo’s Grille, Publix Supermarkets, Sam’s Sports Grill, Snyder’s-Lance, Stones River Total Beverage, and Prescott Bottling Distributing Co (SunDrop).

The Kid’s Fun Zone, sponsored by Lanes Trains and Automobiles, will feature bowling, inflatables by Space Walk, an antique fire truck, face painting, tattoo art, cotton candy, shaved ice, pizza, carnival games and more. Mid-South Mobile DJ’s is hosting the entertainment stage, which will feature performances from several local bands.

All proceeds will benefit the Primary Care and Hope Clinic. The Primary Care and Hope Clinic is a non-profit health center that provides quality, affordable family health services for medically uninsured, underserved, Medicare and Medicaid families in Rutherford County and the surrounding area. “The Primary Care and Hope Clinic is grateful for the generous support we’ve received from local restaurants and event sponsors,” said Lisa Terry, CEO, Primary Care and Hope Clinic. “Funds raised through Taste of Stones River are directly utilized to strengthen our mission of serving uninsured and underserved families in our community.”
