On Thursday (8/23/2012) while Rutherford County codes officials issued the final certificate of occupancy for the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, opponents who had been fighting the Veals Road facility have requested a say in the religious discrimination case of the mosque.
Murfreesboro Attorney Joe Brandon, Jr. has been representing the group of concerned citizens who, among other issues, feel that their rights were violated when adequate notice was not given about the meeting in which the mosque was originally approved.
Their motion goes before the federal courts this afternoon (Friday, 8/24/2012).
