There was a school board meeting on Monday for the Rutherford County Schools. During the meeting, over a dozen parents got up and discussed with the board that they don’t want their children who attend Blackman High School to be rezoned. Apparently the school board is looking into the idea of moving the school zones around and over one hundred people who attended the meeting are not happy about the discussion. The rezoning would move a portion of the students from Blackman to the new Stewarts Creek High School which is scheduled to be open next school year. Some students from Smyrna and LaVergne High School also face rezoning.
