The library first came into existence via the dedication and hard work of Faye Waldron Toombs, who established the library in a tiny closet in City Hall in 1975. On November 17, 2002, the brand new 22,000 square foot Nir Shreibman Building, La Vergne Public Library (named after the late son of local developer Amnon Shreibman) opened its doors.
