Municipal elections in Smyrna, La Vergne and Eagleville were held in conjunction with the state and federal elections here in RutherfordCounty. There were no upsets as residents in those cities sent incumbents back to office. In Smyrna, Mary Ester Reed, Paul Johns and Tim Morrell retained seats on the town council. Longtime La Vergne Alderman Dennis Waldron was returned for another term along with Tom Broeker, who was elected to his second term. Eagleville Vice-Mayor Alan Ball was the only councilmember running for re-election. He is joined by new members Travis Brown and Christopher Don Hendrix. One seat was vacant and the other belonged to Ronnie Hill, who did not seek re-election.
