The Siegel Stars are in uncharted water for their young program. They will represent Rutherford County in the Class 6A semifinals Friday against the Maryville Rebels. The winner will play in the Blue Cross Bowl December 1st. They got their by virture of their 33-20 win over Riverdale. The win didn't come without a cost. They will likely be without their starting quarterback and Mr. Football finalist, Brent Stockstill. He tore his ACL in the Riverdale game. However, they're not without plenty of talent on the field. Receiver Tae Martin and running back Denzel Harding will have to shoulder more of the load against the two-time defending state champion Rebels. Catch the game Friday night on WGNS. Airtime will be 6:30 with a 7pm kickoff from Ken Nolan Stadium at Siegel. The school will pre-sell tickets to the game through Tuesday, since school is out Wednesday through Friday for Thanksgiving break.
