James “Donnie” Thompson, Sr., age 80, passed away on July 4th.

He is survived by his wife, Neida Thompson; sons, James D. Thompson, Jr. and Dion P. Thompson, Sr.; daughter, Dana Thompson; stepchildren, Terry Merritt, James Merritt, Daniel Mason, and Jennifer  Dearmon as well as several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Woodfin Chapel with memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM for James Thompson, Sr.
