(MONA COMMUNITY)  Around 4:30 Saturday (8/15/2020) afternoon Rutherford County Fire Rescue was called to the Fall Creek Recreation Area on Mona Road to assist in the recovery of an SUV and trailer.

You've been told not to drive through areas where the water crosses the roadway, because vehicles become boyant. It was a different situation, but the same principle as a boater was backing their GMC and trailer down a boat ramp on Percy Priest Lake.

A member of the water rescue team assisted a towing company with aflatbed truck. The RCFR member was in the lake and swam out to the half-submerged SUV and attached the cable to the GMC. The SUV with trailer attached were pulled from the lake and onto the truck.

There was great news--no one was injured!
