The numbers for NEW Unemployment filings related to the COVID Pandemic in Tennessee has gone up after 2-weeks of decreasing.
The peak of new unemployment claims during the COVID-19 Pandemic came on April 4th with more than 116-thousand new persons filing for unemployment in the Volunteer State.
Since the start of the coronavirus in March (2020), there have been 795,116 new unemployment claims filed in Tennessee. Of that number, only 249,690 claims have been paid, which totals almost $84 million.
