Daily COVID-19 Numbers are Going Down for Rutherford County

On Tuesday night (9/8/20), reports indicated there were 645 new COVID-19 cases throughout Tennessee in the 24 hours previous to Tuesday evening. There were also 27 more deaths contributed to the coronavirus and 18 more people hospitalized.

Currently, there are 54 new cases of COVID-19 in Rutherford County and a total count of 552 active cases as of Tuesday evening (9/8/20).

Looking back to July, numbers were on the incline with 188 new cases reported on July 23rd in Rutherford County. As we hit August, the daily count of new cases started a downward trend.

Over the past 7 days, Rutherford County has seen a rate of 16.1 new cases per 100,000 residents per day amounting to about 54 new cases daily. Between August 12th and August 25th, the daily count was 63.9 new cases per day. 

To date, there have been 8,242 Positive COVID-19 cases in Rutherford County since the start of the pandemic in March. Out of that number, there have been 80-deaths locally and 244 people hospitalized.
