A Smyrna home was badly damaged in a fire that occurred on Friday afternoon. The blaze was on Greentree Drive. Two teens spotted the blaze that started in the back of the home and tried to douse the flames with a garden hose. The two were unsuccessful and fire crews arrived at the scene shortly before 3 in the afternoon on Friday.

One person was in the home at the time of the fire, but was able to escape unharmed.
