An early morning fire broke out on Saturday at 2423 Factory Road in Rutherford County. The Kittrell Volunteer Fire Department was the first on the scene. Ricky Gibson, the homeowner, was able to safely escape the blaze without injury, although the home was deemed a total loss.
The local chapter of the Red Cross responded to the fire to help assist the 60-year old resident. Gibson did have insurance on the house. For the time being, Gibson will move in to a home that his mother owns next door.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
