(WALTER HILL)  A 13-year old Rock Springs Middle School student died Saturday night (10/31/2020) while riding his skateboard down along  rural Powells Chapel Road around 9:00 o’clock.

A Smyrna man was driving his Ford Expedition on the rural roadway. He told troopers that it was dark night and that he did not see the skateboarder.

This section of Powells Chapel Road is a narrow, two-lane  rural thoroughfare  with no street lights. It is in the Walter Hill area, between Lebanon Pike and I-840.

The teen was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol indicated that charges are pending.
