Blackman loses a hard fought battle at Hendersonville Friday night 30-21.

The Blaze scored on their first drive of the game, going 81-yards on eight plays with senior quarterback Drew Beam punching it in from the one.

The Commandos answered on their opening drive to tie the game. A touchdown that came after a Blackman penalty on a 4th down 27-yard field goal try by Hendersonville.

A field goal later in the game gave the Commandos a 10-7 lead at the half.

Blackman was able to take a 14-10 lead with 2:58 left in the third quarter on the first of Beam's two touchdown passes to Todd Lark:

Hendersonville would answer about a minute later to retake the lead and then again with 8:31 to go in the 4th quarter.

Less than a minute later, Beam again found Lark:

Still trailing 23-21 and the Commandos driving, a roughing the passer penalty on a Blaze interception kept the drive alive and they'd wind up scoring with 3:32 to play in the game for the final 30-21 margin.

Beam was 5-of-14 passing for 122-yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for a TD. Running back Andrew Hudson-Jackson had 13-carries for 109-yards.

The season ends for the Blaze at 4-6. Hendersonville will host Riverdale next Friday night. WGNS will broadcast Oakland vs. Mt. Juliet. MTCS will also travel to USJ in Rutherford County round two playoff games.
