Voters in the Keystone State pushed former Vice President Joe Biden past the 270 electoral vote requirement to make him the 46th president of the United States.
The homestate of the Scranton, Pennsylvania native, presented their native son with its 20 electoral votes. In addition, according to CBS News--a record voter turnout nationwide scored him the largest public vote in history--over 74-million.
CBS Radio News reports that Biden now has 290 electoral votes and President Donald Trump has 214. It takes 270 electoral votes to be presdient.
United States Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) commenrted on the counting of votes in the presidential election, “After counting every valid vote and allowing courts to resolve disputes, it is important to respect and promptly accept the result. The orderly transfer or reaffirming of immense power after a presidential election is the most enduring symbol of our democracy.”
President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris will be sworn into office on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
