State Farm Insurance has announced it's permanently closing the Murfreesboro operations center. This comes as the company's 12-hundred or so Murfreesboro employees have been working from home during the pandemic. They will continue to do so with the facility closure.

Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland told WGNS that he was not surprised, corporate rumblings about changes have been circling for a long time . . .

He noted that buildings like that can be repurposed . . .

The State Farm Operations Center is at the intersection of Memorial and DeJarnette. The massive complex was shut-down on March 19th after a case of COVID-19. It began as a temporary closure, which in turn led to staff working from home since.

Company spokesperson Gina Morss-Fischer says this is happening at all of their 12 operations centers around the United States. She says there's no hard deadline for the closing of the facilities around the country.
