(MURFREESBORO) Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland answered questions from listeners Wednesday (11/11/2020) on the WGNS Action Line radio broadcast. One asked if COVID-19 continues to increase, would he shut things down again . . .
Studies show that shutting down businesses has created business failures, bankruptcies and increases in the suicide rate as well.
As coronavirus cases surge across America, Pfizer and BioNTech have not reported any serious concerns with their vaccination. Chief executives at Pfizer say they could have 30 to 40-million doses ready before the end of the year. That enough for 15 to 20-million persons to get the initial COVID-19 vaccination with a booster 3-weeks later.
If the FDA grants emergency authorization for the vaccination, the Center for Disease Control could allow millions to receive the shots.
It was explained that of four different versions of the vacinne, they selected the one that produced the fewest cases of mild and moderate side effects, such as fever and fatigue.
McFarland commented . . .
In the meantime, Mayor McFarland noted that he supports social distancing, wearing masks and hygene--but definitely "NO more shutting down businesses and the economy!"
