Recycle Your Cut Christmas Tree

Dec 24, 2012 at 03:46 pm by Bryan Barrett

Almost as soon as the tree and decorations are up, it's time to take them down. Local residents have other options than placing your after Christmas debris in the landfill.

Drop Locations

Murfreesboro residents can recycle their living trees by taking them to Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village (312 S. Front Street) or to the City Public Works Facility (4765 Florence Rd.), where you get mulch.  This free service of the Murfreesboro Solid Waste Department is available December 26th through January 11th.

Do's and Don'ts

You can drop-off the tinsel and ornament clean trees on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 6:00 each morning until 3:55 in the afternoons.

Also, flocked trees are not accepted--only cut trees that are clear of all decorations, stands or any manmade items.
