(MURFREESBORO) The Thanksgiving turkey distribution went like clockwork at Greenhouse Ministries on Saturday (11/21/2020) as 500 birds were given away.
Co-founder Cliff Sharp said that Greenhouse added a new service to this year's season . . .
Sharp noted that COVID-19 is increasing the number of persons being served by the local non-profit organization . . .
Greenhouse will be able to meet the local needs even better by next fall. That's when the new two-story facility with classroom, counseling and social work space is forecast to open.
Newly appointed CEO Phillip Street noted that the 25,000 square foot complex will offer five large classrooms and a new teaching kitchen. The second floor will have 17 individual apartments for the mentoring men who will be in a new training program designed to positively change their lives as well as others.
The new two-story structure is being built on South Academy at East State Streets, immediately behind the present 309 South Spring Street Greenhouse location. The current building will be used for client space and expansion of the Garden Patch Thrift Shoppe. Construction of the new two-story facility that's across the street will cost $5-million.
