Two Burglary Suspects Captured in Murfreesboro After Attempted Break-in

Two burglary suspects have been arrested after allegedly trying to pry open a woman’s door with a crowbar. The incident was reported on Thursday morning at an apartment complex on Lascassas Pike. The victim was in the apartment when the attempted break-in occured.

Officers arrived on the scene and witnessed a car leaving the area. A traffic stop was conducted and police immediately found a crowbar in the vehicle. After a brief investigation, officers made two arrests.

Arrested were 19-year old Christopher L. Bills and 18-year old Sherman J. Simmons. Bills was charged with aggravated burglary and possession of burglary tools. He was also served two warrants out of Bledsoe and Davidson Counties. Simmons was charged with criminal conspiracy.

Both men will appear in a Rutherford County courtroom on February 5th.
