Rutherford County, TN – Read To Succeed was announced as a grant recipient of A Community Thrives, a grantmaking and crowd-funding program from the USA TODAY NETWORK and a part of the Gannett Foundation. Read To Succeed will receive a $5,000 grant for their adult literacy programs, which provides one-on-one tutoring in basic literacy, English Second Language classes, English Conversation Hour, and citizenship classes.
Read To Succeed offers free literacy programs and services to adults and children in Rutherford County. The A Community Thrives grant will support the organization’s goal to help adults improve their literacy skills and gain the tools to be active members in the local community.
“This grant will allow us to continue providing literacy resources to our adult learners,” says Read To Succeed Executive Director Jolene Radnoti. “First, we want to thank everyone who supported us during the A Community Thrives fundraiser. On top of the $3,105 we fundraised, we also received a local operating grant from the Gannett Foundation. As we continue to adapt our classes and tutoring programs to reach learners virtually, these funds will be instrumental in the adult literacy program’s success.”
“We are proud of the work Read To Succeed has done to enhance Rutherford County. At Gannett, we take pride in supporting the organizations that make a positive impact in their communities. Through A Community Thrives, we lend financial support to that purpose as well as rally the whole community to champion a good and meaningful cause,” said CEO and Chairman Mike Reed.
