“I appreciate the willingness to serve the state and the commitment of these men and women,” Haslam said. “Tennessee will be well-represented on these boards and commissions, and I look forward to continuing our review to make sure Tennesseans have a government responsive to them.”
The governor continues his review of the state’s complete range of boards and commissions to determine other potential reforms that might be made to improve efficiency, effectiveness and accountability.
Rutherford County Residents Named
Appointment terms are varied due to differing statutory requirements or term limits determined by specific qualifications. The Rutherford county appointments are:
Laura Holland of Lascassas to serve on the Board of Appeals
Dave Baughman of Murfreesboro to serve on the Board of Boiler Rules
Russell Caughron of Murfreesboro on the Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators
Cindi Smith-Walters selected for the Keep Tennessee Beautiful Advisory Council
Ernest Burgess of Murfreesboro was chosen to be on the Local Government Planning Advisory Council
John Bratcher of Murfreesboro, Jerry Oxsher and Richard Thomas, both of Smyrna, have been asked to serve on the Sam Davis Memorial Association's Board of Trustees
Dorothea Thompson of Murfreesboro has been selected for the Statewide Independent Living Council
Deborah Newman of Murfreesboro was chosen to be on the Tennessee Corrections Institute Board of Control
Warren Anderson of Murfreesboro and Jared Lynn of Smyrna were both asked to be on the Underground Storage Tanks and Solid Waste Disposal Control Board
