(SMYRNA TN) The Town of Smyrna is definitely overflowing with the Spirit of Christmas. Residents donated 42,066 non-perishable items in the annual Christmas Food Drive to benefit Nourish Food Bank, while Smyrna Fire Department collected 59,284 items in their 19th annual "Firefighters for Food" food drive! The combined effort of both drives netted 101,350 items!
Smyrna Mayor Mary Esther Reed said, "Thank you so much to everyone who participated this year. Nourish has seen a significant increase in families asking for assistance. We are grateful for this community and your work to make sure all of our neighbors have access to food and basic necessities."
