Christmas tree recycling is in full force right now in Rutherford County. The city of Murfreesboro is accepting trees 24-hours a day at a drop off location next to Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village (pictured below). The tree recycling drop off center is in front of the large covered pavilion to the left of Cannonsburgh.

Additional Drop Locations 

Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri (Dec. 26, 2012-Jan. 11, 2013) 6AM-3:55PM Murfreesboro Solid Waste Department at 4765 Florence Road (where you get free mulch). This limited hour drop-off site is available through January 11, 2013. 

Smyrna 24/7 Drop Off at the Lee Victory Recreation Park near the football fields. Smyrna is recycling living Christmas trees now through January 13, 2013. 

La Vergne 24/7 Drop Off at the City Public Works Building (148 International Blvd.).  They will do this for as long as needed. 

Do's and Don'ts

Trees must be free of tinsel and ornaments.  Also, flocked trees are not accepted--only cut trees that are clear of all decorations, stands or any manmade items.
