April 9, 2020 marked a sad night for the Lopez family. 30-Year old Stephen R. Lopez, Jr. who lived in Cannon County, was shot and killed while in Murfreesboro. Lopez was murdered at a home in the 1100 block of North Rutherford Boulevard.

The criminal investigation into the death of Lopez came to a close with the arrest of 27-year old James E. Evans III. Now, the case is progressing through the Rutherford County Court System, as explained by District Attorney Jennings Jones (hear below soundbyte on WGNSradio.com)…



Evans is currently being held in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center under an $85,000 bond.
