Man Wanted for Murder of Girlfriend

Police in Nashville are asking Middle Tennesseans to be on the lookout for a murder suspect.

Saamia Boyce Jr., 28, is being sought on charges of murder and attempted murder for Monday’s 11:45 p.m. fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend Alexis Douglas, 29, and the wounding of her boyfriend, Gene Fernandez, 29, inside her Elm Hill Pike apartment.

Boyce allegedly opened the door to the apartment with a key and fired shots at the couple as they sat on a couch. Officers arrived at the apartment and found Douglas deceased at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. Fernandez was also struck. He was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he is being treated.

Two children, ages 6 and 5, were also present in the apartment. They did not witness the shooting. They are with family.
