The City School Board started the search for a new director following the death of former director Linda Gilbert last May.

The five finalists include Salem Elementary School Principal Trey Duke III, Mitchell-Neilson Schools Principal Tammy Garrett, Wilson County Schools administrator Christina Harris, Murfreesboro City Schools Data Coordinator Kimberly Osborne, and Poplar Grove Middle School Principal Christopher Treadway.
