(MURFREESBORO) An unidentified male and female are accused of using counterfeit money to purchase items at Hobby Lobby on the Old Fort Parkway.
Murfreesboro Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two persons of interest who were photographed at the retail outlet by surveillance cameras.
Store officials told police that the man and woman went to separate cashiers. One employee detected the male’s counterfeit $100 bill. The female, however, was able to purchase items with another counterfeit $100 and received $80 in change.
Lt. Clayton Williams told WGNS News there is concern that businesses are not reporting when they receive a small number of counterfeit bills. He urged retailers to take the time to notify police . . .
They left in a gold or tan SUV.
If you know who these two people are, contact Murfreesboro Police Detective Tyler Smith at 601-201-5509 or email 0844@murfreesborotn.gov.
