(MURFREESBORO) The 14th Annual Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Foundation Gala was uniquely held on Friday evening (1/29/2021). Instead of the elegantly decorated grande ballroom at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center, the decor of the surroundings was pleasantly familiar.
The Rutherford Society is a group of people who love Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. The Society thanks all donors of $1,000 or more per year, with two tickets to the Rutherford Society Gala, scheduled in January of each year.
Usually it is held at The Embassy Suites as a black tie event that recognizes the supporters of the Foundation and Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Due to the pandemic, this year it was held in every member's homes.
There were speakers, and all were viewed from smart phones, lap top computers and iPads (scan the QR code below to see that program).
During 2020, the Foundation received $2,573,074.65 from 778 donors. It also sponsored several fund raisers, most were virtual events.
The Rutherford Society has helped support the medical and health needs of this community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, more than ever, the medical staff were definitely front-line heroes to all who call the Heart of Tennessee home.
