Murfreesboro Pilot Makes Emergency Landing

(MURFREESBORO)  Around 10:00 o'clock Saturday morning (1/30/2021), a Cessna 162 was flying between Murfreesboro and Shelbyville when they had engine trouble. It made an emergency landing in a field alongside Rucker Road. 

Rutherford County Sheriff's Sgt. Bryant Gregory reported, "The Murfreesboro pilot and a passenger were flying when the plane apparently stalled and could not be restarted. At that point the local pilot called 'Mayday' and made an emergency landing."

Rutherford County Fire Rescue Chief Larry Farley told NewsRadio WGNS . . .

The Federal Aviation Administration is conducting an investigation.

Rutherford County Sheriffs deputies and units from Rutherford County Fire and Rescue handled the call.
