Indycar racing will soon be in Middle Tennessee and our local university is involved in the race.

The cars will zoom through the city streets of downtown Nashville with the inaugural Music City Grand Prix. For three days in August, the streets of downtown will come alive with the sounds of music, food, and racing, all spun into an experience you just have to be there to feel.

The racing series will debut Aug. 6th - 8th, 2021. The three-day international festival of speed and sound will be staged on a temporary grand prix circuit around the Nissan Stadium.

MTSU and the School of Concrete and Construction Management is working to create environmentally conscious concrete mixes while not sacrificing durability and strength for the race barriers and pit lane.

Dr. Heather Brown, former director of the MTSU concrete program, told WGNS about the race course…

The Music City Grand Prix will be this year in August - and the course will be in downtown Nashville.
