(MURFREESBORO)  April 11-17, 2021 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Rutherford County Sheriffs Office Chief Deputy Keith Lowery said, "Join me in thanking our often unseen, and under appreciated, heroes who serve as the first to respond to the call for help."

Our emergency 911 communications professionals are, in many cases, the conduit to provide a lifeline to those in dire need of responders. They are the epitome of multitaskers and can bring calm to chaos.

Lowery concluded, "A mere Thank You will never be enough to convey how incredibly valuable you are, and how much we appreciate the important job that you all do.
May God bless all of you who sit behind the microphone, and under a headset to guide help to the helpless, and justice to the unjust."

WGNS encourages the public to let this community's telecommunicators know that they are greatly appreciated. Police, fire, ambulance--all emergency responders depend on this team of local professional communicators. They are the lifeline between the public and the emergency responders.
