(MURFREESBORO)  Despite a cloudy, cool and drizzly morning, the Better Business Bureau's "SHRED DAY" in front of Planet Fitness was a huge success--in that it reduced "identity theft" for several area residents.

The Better Business Bureau's James Price was beside the big Max-Shred truck as he explained why they offer this service . . .

Those who brought items to shred were given scam prevention packets from the Federal Trade Commission, Predator's bags with gifts and information from Planet Fitness, news from Greenhouse Ministries and helpful volunteers from the Murfreesboro Rotary Club who unloaded the papers from the line of vehicles. In addition, officers from the Murfreesboro Police Department kept the traffic flowing smoothly.

Price noted that they plan another "SHRED DAY" in the fall and that he will tell about it later on WGNS. The Better Business Bureau is on the radio every other Wednesday in the RUTHERFORD ISSUES radio broadcast.
