In addition, the TN Grocers & Convenience Store Association is holding its convention this same week in Murfreesboro.

The Chamber of Commerce reports that hotel occupancy increased to 65% in March. Looking back, pre-COVID levels rang in at 76%. The recent spike in overnight stays is encouraging news that tourism, meetings and sports events are making their way back into Rutherford County.

In addition to Grocery Stores and Conference USA events, the Spring Fling will be in Rutherford County before the months end.

The TSSAA Spring Fling will take place in Rutherford County May 25th through the 28th. It is a one-of-a-kind event that involves high school athletes throughout Tennessee; all of whom visit and often stay the night in our community while participating in various sports.

TSSAA is the only high school athletic organization in the United States to have a seven-sport, Olympic-style spring sport championship tournament for baseball, softball, track and field, team and individual tennis and soccer.

The Spring Fling is expected to draw 30,000 visitors into our community and have an economic impact on Rutherford County of $3.5 million.
