(MURFREESBORO) This month’s inaugural pediatric golf tournament raised $36,043 to benefit the Nursery/Pediatric Fund at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. The event was sponsored by the Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Foundation and held at the Stones River Country Club on May 17, 2021.
Rutherford Foundation Director Virginia DeJean said. “We are thrilled we could host an outdoor event that keeps everyone safe while raising funds for some of our smallest and most vulnerable patients.”
DeJean continued, “Over the years, this fund has been used to purchase equipment such as infant warmers for the nursery and cardiac neo-natal intensive care cardiac monitors, provide car seats for families in need, and provide nurses and staff with financial assistance for continuing education.”
The Nursery/Pediatric Fund was established in 1984, and serves Labor and Delivery, the Well Baby Nursery, the NICU, and the Pediatric unit at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford. In 2020, 3,484 babies were born at the hospital, and more than $500,000 was granted from the Nursery/Pediatric Fund.
