UPDATE: WGNS has more information on the new gun carry bill that will allow Tennessee Residents to carry a handgun without a permit.

The new gun carry bill will go into effect on July 1st, 2021.

Another bill that will go into effect on the same date will cut the taxes on the purchase of a gun safe. However, the tax will only be cut for one year at this point starting on July 1st, 2021 and ending on June 30th, 2022.
