The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro, charted in 1951, recently presented a a “Proudly We Hail” Plaque to the DoubleTree by Hilton in Murfreesboro. The token of appreciation is associated with the local civic group recognizing the hotel for flying the American Flag daily in the proper manner.
This project is part of the Americanism programs of The National Exchange Club, founded in 1911.
No symbol better signifies our nation's greatness than our American flag - the Stars and Stripes. The "Proudly We Hail" program encourages regular display of the flag by commercial establishments.
Deteriorated flags should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by private burning – WGNS Radio at 306 S Church has a drop box for tattered flags to be given to the Boy Scouts for proper retirement.
