Center for the Arts Shows Set

(MURFREESBORO)  "We're back!" proclaimed Center For The Arts Executive Director Patience Long.

She continued, "Over a year ago the pandemic turned off the stage lights three shows into a spectacular 13-show season.  When the world stopped, we didn’t know how long it would last or the impact it would have on the Arts."

Long underlined, "We want you to be the first to know that the Center for the Arts is coming back stronger than ever! The 2021-22 Season has been set and we are excited to announce our upcoming shows to you first!"

The Arts Center director noted, "We decided early on when it was safe to resume our shows, we would continue our 25th Anniversary Season. And we are staying true to our word."

The Center for the Arts shut-down 2 weeks before Little Women the Musical opened.  That's where the 2021 season begins this coming October.  The same director, cast and crew have signed on to bring you this touching story.

Patience explained, "Your subscriptions, passes and tickets will be moved from the dates you originally selected, to the new dates for our continued season.  For example: if you held tickets for the opening night of Matilda the Musical on Friday, June 5, 2020  in seats A7 & A8—we will automatically move those to the new opening night of Matilda the Musical (Friday, January 14, 2022).  We will try to get your seats as close to the original seats as possible."

To sum it up: your passes, subscriptions, and tickets you purchased in 2020 will be transferred to our upcoming season.

In the 2021-2022 season you will see many of the same shows we promised to offer during 2020.  But a few shows had to be replaced.  There are many considerations when building a season, and we tried our best to make sure we offered comparable shows to any we needed to change.

Here are the substitute shows:

Mama Mia has been replaced with Sister Act

Man of La Mancha has been replaced with The SpongeBob Musical

Dogfight has been replaced with Avenue Q

The Great Gatsby has been replaced with Hamlet

In addition, we’ve added The Savanah Sipping Society to our season which you can select to swap out for a show you aren’t interested in seeing.

What Do You Do?

STEP 1: We are working diligently behind the scenes to transfer everyone’s tickets to the new performances.  Once that is complete, we will email you each individually with a listing of your new tickets including SHOW NAME, DATE AND TIME OF PERFORMANCE, AND SEAT NUMBER.  Please be patient with us, I promise we will be reaching out to you as soon as possible about your new tickets.

STEP 2: When you receive your confirmation email with all your new dates/showtimes, you can reach out to our staff via email at: info@boroarts.org for any questions or changes.  We will process your requests on a first come-first served basis.

STEP 3: Enjoy live theater again!

Some patrons have asked if they can donate their passes or tickets for 2020 and purchase new passes.  And the answer is yes!  Once the email confirmation is sent regarding your ticket changes, contact us and we can turn your original pass into a tax-deductible donation.

Center for the Arts Executive Director Patience Long smiled big and noted, "I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support during the past year.  I’m not going to lie—it’s been tough.  But we’ve persevered and are so excited to open our doors to you once again. So, for the first time in over a year I get to say…We’ll see you at the show!"
