(WALTR HILL, TN)  Crews from Rutherford County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the Middle Point Landfill around 8:20 Tuesday morning (6/29/2021). 

Chief Larry Farley reported that the call was about a backhoe that caught on fire while an operator was working the piece of heavy equipment. 

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and no injuries were reported. 

Officials noted that the cause of the fire was equipment malfunction.
