Barfield Park is one of the largest city owned parks in Tennessee with over 430-acres of land that include hiking trails, ballfields and playgrounds. In fact, it is similar to a state park, as opposed to a city park. To put the size of the park into better perspective, it is over half the size of New York’s Central Park.

Recently, the park added another 70-acres. Parks Director Nate Williams told WGNS NEWS…

The additional land is near the Barfield mountain bike trails, which have been open for the past 2-years…

A massive new playground, which was paid for through a special grant from BlueCross BlueSheild, will open in Barfield Park this Friday…

The ribbon cutting to open the new playground in Barfield Park will be this Friday morning at 10.
