Aug 05, 2021 at 07:51 pm by WGNS

(MURFREESBORO) The first Friday night of the month and the historic town square will be packed with people enjoying an evening of great music, delicious food and shopping with local family businesses. FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE takes place on the east side of the Rutherford County Courthouse and features the music of Higher Ground.

Admission is FREE, so bring your lawn chairs and join the fun from 6:30 to 9:30PM.

A special thank you to MAIN STREET MURFREESBORO for coordinating FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE on the first Friday of each month June through September. The major sponsor is Wilson Bank & Trust.

One-Room Schools

Then Main Street's Farmer's Market will be Saturday morning from 8AM to Noon on the downtown square. A special part of Saturday's market will be a tribute to one-room schools. A display will be set-up at Shacklett's Photography on the east side of the square.

Tue. (Aug. 10, 2021) 10AM and again at 1PM:  Homeschool students are encouraged to kickoff your "Back to School” with a trip to a one-room schoolhouse. Learn the rules of the classroom and the subjects taught. The program will be offered at two times on Aug. 10, 2021.  Since seating is limited inside the schoolhouse, reservations for a specific time are required. This is the first of several homeschool days planned for the 2021-2022 school year, so mark your calendars. $5 per student.

Reservations can be made by calling 615-801-2606 or email mbnevills@murfreesborotn.gov

And remember, we only have one more FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE this year. So don't miss this month and next. On September 3, 2021, the group GOOD ROCKING TONIGHT will have the square rolling!
