The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Explorers Post #106 will host their third annual Golf Tournament beginning at 8 a.m., Friday, Sept. 10 at Indian Hills.

Explorers’ adviser Deputy Andy Pugh said they need golfers to play and businesses and individuals to sponsor the event.

Explorers are students ages 14-20 who learn about law enforcement and life skills during weekly meetings. They compete in an annual competition for the Boy Scout Explorers, staff Sheriff’s Office events like Trunk or Treat and volunteer to help with community food drives.

They will use the funds from the golf tournament to pay expenses to the competition, equipment and other needs.

Some of the Explorers have become state and local law enforcement officers.

To register a team or to become a sponsor, complete the form and mail it to the RCSO Explorer Post, attention Andy Pugh, 940 New Salem Highway, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. For more information, call Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Scott at 615-708-3652.
