(MURFREESBORO)  If you have a youngster who loves the police and you want an instant crowd, call the Murfreesboro Police. You would be surprised at what a large crowd is attracted when nine marked and unmarked police cars roar into a neighborhood with sirens warbling and blue lights flashing.

Danton Pope was celebrating his birthday and he wants to be a policeman when he grows up. The eight year old was so excited when all of the police cruisers came to a stop in front of his house.

Within seconds neighbors poured into the street, adults and children. They were trying to determine what serious crime was being committed. Officers climbed out of their vehicles to get their pictures made with a very excited young man. Within minutes, youngsters were running over to get in those pictures being made with true hometown heroes.

Danton was smiling and taking-in all of the excitement. Give him a few years, and he'll probably be one of Murfreesboro's future heroes and loving every minute of helping others.

By the way, if you're an adult who wants a rewarding career in law enforcement, Murfreesboro Police are hiring new officers. The deadline to apply for training is September 10, 2021.
