A car that was stolen in a Nashville robbery was recovered just past the Rutherford County line at Cane  Ridge High School in Antioch on Tuesday.

The BMW sedan was stolen Monday from a carwash on Smith Springs Road during a strong-arm robbery. With help from the car manufacturer utilizing the BMW's GPS unit,  Metro Nashville Police were able to track the car to the Antioch high school and recover the vehicle one day after it was stolen.

The school was placed on lockdown as officers and a Metro Police helicopter crew spotted 5 juveniles exit the car. They were all detained and taken to the Hermitage Precinct for interviews concerning the robbery, which remains under investigation. The 5 were charged Tuesday (9/7/21) with joyriding.
