The annual 9-11 Ceremony took place at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office in Murfreesboro on Friday morning.

Rutherford County Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh recognized those who helped to organize and put together the 9-11 monument that stands near the entrance of the Sheriff's Office...



The monument features a steel beam that was removed from the debris caused by two airplanes flying into the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 in New York City.

Jeffery Brown, Chaplin for the Sheriff's Office offered a prayer while remembering those who died on 9-11...



Keynote speaker Jeff Long, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security stated...



Shortly after members of Rolling Thunder raised the Prisoner of War flag and the Riverdale High School Singers sang the National Anthem, the event came to a close with a 21-gun salute by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office with Honor Guard duties from the Smyrna Fire Department and members of the Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services.
